Rijkevelde Castle

rijkevelde

This castle was built in 1913, and completed by Baron Raphaël Gillès de Pélichy in the aftermath of the First World War.

It became home to the International Centre for European Training (CIFE) in 1956.
Seminars are held there on a regular basis in cooperation with the College of Europe in Bruges. Visitors to the castle park are treated to the sight of “Dikke Bertha”, the estate’s most impressive tree, with a circumference of 4 metres.
