Hoogveld Castle

A part of the estate located in the place known as “Hooggoed” belonged to the Grunne family in the early 18th century. They had inherited it from the Montmorency family.

In the run-up to the First World War, Baron Charles Gillès de Pélichy bought part of woods belonging to the Grunne family .

The neo-Gothic-style Hoogveld castle was built in 1925 by Baron Charles Gillès de Pélichy. He gifted the woods and castle to his daughter Marie-Josèphe in 1946, who married Count Antoine de Looz-Corswarem in 1929.

In 1948, two years after receiving the property, Marie-Josèphe and Antoine de Looz-Corswarem went to live there with their family. The estate became the property of Count Baudouin de Looz-Corswarem in 1999. He is the youngest son of the Count and Countess Antoine & Marie-Josèphe de Looz-Corswarem.
