Wapenaer Castle

This residence was acquired in 1936 by the Baron and Baroness Charles Gillès de Pélichy, as heirs of the husband and wife Ruymbeke-van Hobroeck, who died without issue.

King Léopold III paid a visit to the headquarters there on 25 May 1940 (during the war).

Prince Félix of Bourbon, attached to another headquarters, attended a so-called church parade the following day in the castle park.
